Shopping in the Lake District

Keswick has the best outdoor shops. George Fisher, Cotswold Outdoor, and a cluster of independents. Ambleside has a good range too. If you need gear, that's where to go.

Grasmere has the gingerbread shop and a few independents. Hawkshead has Beatrix Potter connections and gift shops. Windermere and Bowness are more tourist-focused with the usual mix.
